Makan Ashgvari is a singer, songwriter, actor, director, art manager, and teacher living and working in Tehran.

As a musician, he has collaborated with bands and artists like Kiawasch Saheb Nassagh, Naima, Kamakan, Pallet, Bomrani, Kingraam, Pouya Ehsaei, Amir Saremi, He and his friends, Dash, Loknat, Sardar Sarmast, Shahrzad Beheshtian, Arshid Azarine, etc. He has published two personal albums (Hejdah and To Trucks) and has two albums named “Far” and “Then Go” with guitarist Amir Saremi. He collaborated with “Naima Band” as the main vocalist in the album “Tehran’s Shore”.

He has made and participated in several theatre performances as a director, writer, and actor.

In 2013 he founded Otaghkar as a platform of independent music, including events, workshops, and music publishing. More than a hundred people have participated in Otaghkar workshops. In 2017 Otaghkar formed and managed a festival of independent music in Tehran, named “Bazshenid”, with 26 independent musicians performing. In 2018 he participated in ATSA (Art Think South Asia) as the founder of Otaghkar.

His latest project is named “Tashdeed”, a collaborative band with Mohammad Shariat and Arian Shariat. In November 2020, he performed an online live concert at “Farhang hall”, with Mohammad Shariat named “Out of Touch”, as the beginning of the project “Tashdeed”.
